Black Silicon technology was created by scientists of Harvard University.

Compared to common silicon wafer, Black Silicon is 100 – 500 times more sensitive towards lighting.

Not only has an ultra high sensitivity toward light, according to Dr. Eric Mazur of Harvard, Black Silicon can catch an Infra Red which is invisible for human eyes.

This invention will be very good to be used as night vision, from a simple digital camera until solar power. The more exciting news is, Black Silicon can be made with the same machine existed, as the one used to produce present silicon. Later on, this Black Silicon will be patented by SiOnyx, as the sponsor of the research.
