Sony's bloggie cameras were introduced at CES earlier this year, and while I was not really blown away by the lowest-end PM5 model, I must admit I was quite impressed by the slightly longer CM5 with optical zoom and LCD flip out . But here we are only 8 months later, and Sony has already introduced the third member to the family with the bloggie bloggie Touch.

The most obvious upgrade from the previous two models is a 3-inch LCD touchscreen display, and a new user interface that allows you to touch and "flick your way through photos and video clips. It has 8 GB internal memory instead of an SD card slot to limit that type, and according to Sony Europe press release that's enough for about four hours of 720p video, 29 minutes chunks. Naturally at full 1920 × 1080p, which is significantly less. It received some retractable USB connector for offloading photos (12MP) and clips, a highly respected and HDMI port should be available in early November with pricing TBA.

Walkman temporarily outsells iPod in Japan

They like Walkmans in Japan. So much so that Sony's Walkman line has passed temporarily iPod for sale in Japan again, according to researchers at BCN. Players like the Sony S640 helped slide past in August with 47.8 percent of sales, where Apple fell to 44 percent. The Walkman iPod recently got one years ago, but these new figures mark the first time that Sony managed to get a general result for the month to maintain.

IPod Nano 8GB and 16GB were still the most popular, but it was the diversity of the Sony players that eventually overwhelmed their numbers.

Part of this switch is due to Apple's update schedule. Regular updates iPods in September, as many were probably holding off for the new iPod lineup, while Sony is still in the mid-cycle.

Instead of cozying up beside the fireplace to keep warm on a cold winter night, in Japan you can just have a seat at the table. As long as it is this particular table Hidakagu which table is equipped with a 360 watt infrared heater under specifically designed for a dinner hot legs and lower body, not the food. According to Inventor Spot , the table was inspired by traditional Japanese "kotatsu" which is a low table / blanket / heater combination that is not designed for dining. So this table is that concept and makes it suitable for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

You’ll Probably Feel Less Guilty About Replacing This Paper Alarm Clock

Paper Alarm Clock (Images courtesy Joon & Jung)
By Andrew Liszewski

Either I'm not replacing my alarm often enough, designers & Jung Joon is a little too paranoid about how many of them ending up in landfills. Their paper alarm clock was set up with the idea that the user can easily be replaced by ditching or recycling the outer casing, which itself is made of molded, recycled paper. There is still inside the electronic bits that make the alarm doing his thing, but they encourage users to them back to where they are placed in a new case and sent to the next user mail. Perfect for the eco-warrior is still stuck in a 9 to 5 job, but potentially catastrophic for those who have a tendency to spill the glass of water they keep on their bedside table.
