Canon has been making its G series of digital cameras for a while now. These cameras are some of the more expensive point and shoot units you can buy and offer a lot of manual features. They are intended to sit in the gap between a normal digital camera and a DSLR.
A new camera from Canon called the G12 has leaked that should be getting official later this month according to rumors. What we know about it so far is that he camera has a 10MP CCD and a 5x optical zoon lens.
The rear LCD is a 2.8-inch model that tilts and swivels. The camera also records HD video in 720p mode and has all the manual features you expect in a G series unit. Pricing and availability are unknown, but G series cameras are typically in the $ 500 range.

Details of the Canon Powershot G12 were briefly uploaded by Cnet Asia. The Canon G12 is the next in line and is expected to be unveiled officially soon.
Details in the Cnet post (which has now been edited), reveal that the G12 has a 10 megapixel sensor, 5x optical zoom and a 2.8 inch tilt and swivel screen. Other features include the ability to capture video in HD at 720p.
A quick phone call to Canon in the UK and our spokesman was playing “dumb” as to the leak, saying that Canon had launched the Ixus 1000 HS, the PowerShot S95 and the PowerShot SX130 IS in the UK on Thursday and nothing else.
It is expected that Canon will officially announce the Canon G12 in the next month or so. Pricing information and release dates are of course, not known at this time.

Canon isn’t all about cameras, they’ve also just released their latest compact photo printer, the SELPHY CP800. This one is the successor to the CP780. One interesting feature of the new printer is a shuffle function that randomly selects photos from the memory card and combines them into a single 4×6-inch image. You feeling lucky?
The CP800 features a new 2.5-inch tilting LCD display, an optional battery pack, and also a Bluetooth adapter to print wirelessly. The SELPHY CP800 plays nice with both Windows and Mac and will cost you $ 100 in black or white.
The battery pack and Bluetooth adapter should cost $ 80 and $ 50 respectively.
