Sharing experiences with life in real time by breaking pictures of 3 megapixel cell phone cameras and posting them on Facebook or Twitter has virtually photography that used to exist, replaced in a world where the development of film and recalls adventures in the past was commonplace. Someone who has not forgotten the pictures of this past traditions, but also the traditions instant picture of the present, is Benj Gershman , bassist turned photographer of the ubiquitous College Band, OAR (of a revolution).

While on tour with OAR, Gershman made it his mission to his adventures on film to capture – whether it was on its iPhone, digital camera, or professional 35mm SLR camera manual. Experiment with several mediums (anything from 35mm to Polaroid for medium-format film and Polaroid Transfer), Gershman displayed his photos last night at the Morrison Hotel Gallery, formerly the site of the iconic rock club CBGB in New York City. Gershman collection embodies the spirit of the tour of the album and life on the road through its varied forms of media – some of the photos captured fleeting moments captured on his iPhone using the app Hipstamatic iPhone app that other photos were more thoughtful and calculated. Photos of open fields and a rusty car, represented slower moments on the tour and were captured with 35mm, while the pictures snapped on his iPhone embodied fast moments just before taking the stairs or a passing moment of the tour.
